Christopher Breen's Mac 911 Weblog at Macworld gives out tips on how to take care of the lithium batteries on your Apple portables and iPods.
- Lithium-based batteries' optimum working temperature is between 10˚ to 30˚C. Too cold, it doesn't hold enough charge. Too hot, the battery gets damaged.
- Don't leave your iPod and portables plugged all the time. Apple suggests that you charge and discharge the battery at least once a month.
- Completely draining the battery then storing it is a no-no.
