Makezine.com

This is one magazine that I wish I had when I was a kid. MAKE is described as "the first magazine devoted to digital projects, hardware hacks, and D.I.Y. inspiration." MAKE is a hybrid magazine/book, also know as a "mook", which is published by O'reilly and released quarterly. Makezine.com went online on February 3, 2005 and the mook premerie issue was published on February 8, 2005.

The first issue featured a lot of neat stuff like making your own gauss rifle, a how-to on aerial kite photography, and a $14 video camera stabilizer. Not all tips and hacks are all technical. Take for example the how-to on a tie-down handle for a small form factor PC. The mook covers everything from the net to gadgets, from the open-source car to yak shaving.

I hope I can get a copy of the first issue.
